The Journey

A world the public
never sees.

Exceptional dining
Les Canisses · Fontvieille
The day concludes around an exceptional table. A Camargue dinner hosted by Benjamin Villard — great raseteur, winner of the Cocarde d'Or and Palme d'Or. His restaurant Les Canisses, in Fontvieille, is the natural sanctuary of our tradition.

Your questions

To prepare for your visit

Are the bulls hurt during an event? +
Absolutely not. Unlike bullfighting, the course camarguaise is a sport with no killing or injury. The bull (the cocardier) is the true hero of the arena. After his 15 minutes of effort on the track, he peacefully returns to his herd for a well-deserved rest of one and a half to two months.
Is the experience suitable for children? +
Yes, our immersion is open to all ages. However, since the arenas are often very sunny, we strongly recommend bringing for the younger ones: a cap, sunscreen, water mister, and regular hydration.
Do I need to wear specific clothing? +
No specific clothing or shoes are required to step onto the arena sand. Simply choose comfortable clothes and don't forget your sunglasses and hat!
What happens in case of rain or cancellation? +
The course camarguaise is subject to weather conditions. By tradition, if an event is definitively stopped by rain before the 3rd bull comes out (out of the 7 scheduled), specific arrangements are made. If the stoppage occurs after the 3rd bull, the event is considered completed.
Is the tour accessible to people with reduced mobility? +
The majority of the experience is accessible (track, stands, locker rooms, and infirmary). Only access to the toril might be complex depending on the architecture of the visited arena. Please let us know when booking so we can adapt our welcome.
In what languages do you offer the immersion? +
The experience is currently hosted in French and Spanish. An English version is being set up to welcome our international audience very soon.
Does Les Canisses restaurant accommodate allergies? +
Of course. Benjamin Villard's team has everything planned to adapt to your dietary requirements or allergies. Simply notify us when submitting your booking request.
